Eastern Colorado Awana News
Conference, A.R.T & RIU's, 5th & 6th grade T&T, Commander College
May 13, 2009

Dear Awana Commander,

Every young person deserves trained, motivated spiritual leaders. Whether you are an Awana leader, pastor, or 24/7 youth worker, the 2009 Awana Ministry Conference will help you learn effective, innovative ideas for evangelism and discipleship. Not to be confused with Basic Training sessions, conferences go beyond the basics and provide scores of workshops with help in specific areas of responsibility. You'll learn lots of great new ideas and information while re-discovering the joy of reaching and training boys, girls, and youth for Christ.

The Awana Ministry Conferences provides a place to connect with other Awana leaders from the area. The 2009 Awana Ministry Conference prepares you to proclaim God's Word to kids and teenagers when they're most open to salvation. Come with a group and split up to take full advantage of the entire conference. You'll leave excited to serve, armed with ideas and skills to immediately apply to your ministry.

Mark your calendars now to attend this training on August 21 & 22 in Colorado Springs or on August 28 & 29th in Wheatridge. For more information please check out our website.

Do you remember the days of the grey uniform, the bars full of pins, and the proud leaders who displayed their every Awana achievement? The Awana Leader Award system is coming back! Awana leaders can now earn RIU's (Rorheim Institute Units) and work their way up the Awana Acheivement scale. Leaders can track their RIU's online through the A.R.T website, and proudly display their awards once again.

Troubles with 5th and 6th Grade?
Has your church's Awana ministry struggled to reach out to 5th and 6th graders, or having trouble challenging and teaching the clubbers you already have? "Tweens" are quickly becoming a new sub-culture in America--they aren't teenagers yet, but many 11 and 12 year-olds have moved beyond typical children's programs. Make sure to attend the Awana Conference this August to discover new ideas and ways to help your church effectively reach and disciple the "Tweens" in your church!
